After the first round defeat Inter has recovered a little bit and their games seemed to be better and better. They lose with Napoli (1-0), draw at home with Catania after a crazy game (they’ve managed to overcome 2 goals handicap in the second half and they had real great opportunities to finish the game with a win) and they’ve beat Chievo in an away match (0-2).
Meanwhile, Marseille had 4 loses: with Toulouse (0-1) at home ground and away with Brest (1-0), Evian (2-0) and Ajaccio (1-0). The real problem is that they haven’t managed to score not a single goal in those 4 matches. It’s a fact that they’ve missed a few players in those matches but that it’s not an excuse for losing 4 games with quite poor teams.
It will be a tight match but I think that Inter will be the better team on the pitch and with all the players they have in the squad they could easily overcome Marseille in order to qualify in the next round of UCL. So, my pick will be: take Inter Milan to win.
