Okay so I was watching a documentary about the Miracle on Ice (1980 US hockey team beating Soviet Union) and I was thinking like... imagine if you KNEW that was gonna happen and could bet on it??
The odds must have been insane right? Like probably +2000 or something crazy? So it got me thinking - if you had a time machine and could go back and bet on ANY historical event knowing the outcome, what would you pick?
Sports, elections, whatever. What's the biggest longshot that actually happened that you'd want to throw money on?
I think mine would be Leicester City winning the Premier League in 2016. I remember hearing they were like 5000-1 at the start of the season!! Imagine putting even just $100 on that lol. That's $500,000!!
Or maybe Buster Douglas knocking out Mike Tyson? I don't even know what those odds were but they had to be ridiculous. What about you guys? What historical event would you bet your life savings on if you could go back?
(And yes Eddie I know this is a "useless hypothetical that doesn't teach proper bankroll management" but let me have fun for once
