Tottenham welcome Bundesliga outfit Leipzig to the White Hart Lane for the first leg of their Champions League Last-16 tie. The Spurs were big surprise last season as they reached the final in the Champions League. However, this season is quite different for the North London side. The results weren't at desired level and ex-manager Mauricio Pochettino was sacked. Jose Mourinho took his place, but the inconsistency have continued. However the actual form is solid. Tottenham are in series of three victories in the Premier League. First they beat Norwich City with 2:1 thanks to goals scored by Dele Alli and Son. The next victims were the reigning champions Manchester City. New signing Steven Bergwijn and Son found the back of the net to secure a 2:0 win. On Sunday Tottenham beat Aston Villa with 3:2. Alderweireld scored the first goal, while Son the remaining two. In the meantime Tottenham managed to beat Southampton in the FA Cup. The last two victories were obtained without Christian Eriksen who joined Inter Milan for £16.9m during the January transfer window. The Danish midfielder spent six and a half years at White Hart Lane, scoring 69 goals in 305 matches for Tottenham. I believe the atmosphere in the squad is very good now, while the players confidence is higher. Nevertheless, Mourinho has lot of injury issues ahead of this match. Key striker Harry Kane remain sidelined due to a hamstring injury. Most probably he will miss the rest of the season and that's a huge handicap. Kane is simply irreplaceable. Moussa Sissoko is another long-term absentee, while Juan Foyth and Erik Lamela missed the match against Aston Villa due to groin complaints. On the positive note, Ben Davies is available for selection after a three-month layoff.

Red Bull Leipzig finished first in the group that also consist Lyou, Benfica and Zenit St Petersburg. They had a record of three victories, two draws and just one defeat. Leipzig have scored in all but one match, a total of 10 goals in the campaign. Timo Werner and Emil Forsberg were the key players, they are responsible for more than half of the Champions League goals. By the way, Werner is heavily linked with Liverpool and could sign for the Reds next summer. He play very good and has scoring at a rate of one goal every 93 minutes. Leipzig are just a point behind perennial champions Bayern Munich in domestic Bundesliga. The actual form is solid, they have one win and one draw on the last two matches. Nagelsmann's men managed to stay unbeaten against Bayern Munich playing a goalless draw at the Allianz Arena. This weekend Leipzig won 3:0 against Werder Bremen. The players confidence is surely higher after these two good results and they will arrive in London with a positive approach. Their main target is to stay unbeaten, but they will also try to score at least one away goal. Coach Nagelsmann has five injury and suspension worries. Willi Orban, Ibrahima Konate, Tyler Adams and Kevin Kampl are injured, while Dayot Upamecano is serving a ban.

Tottenham vs RB Leipzig Prediction:

I expect both teams to score in London. The new White Hart Lane, or officially called "Tottenham Hotspur Stadium" was the most efficient venue so far in the Champion League. A total of 20 goals were scored on three matches from the group stage. The Spurs play at home and they will go for the victory. They should take advantage from Leipzig’s lack of experience at this stage of the competition. At the same time they have big defensive issues. Tottenham conceded four goals on the last two matches with Aston Villa and Southampton, so I expect Leipzig to score at least once.

Tottenham vs RB Leipzig Pick: Both teams to score - Yes @ 1.59 with Pinnacle
