Hello everyone, we are back with another short and fun post. Sometimes we are surprised by news of bettors pocketing huge amounts of money after getting sports results right, and today bettingsoftware.com will talk about them!

Here is a short list of the five highest-paid bettors in the history, some of them did not reveal their identity. Others, like Billy Walters, a famous poker player, only revealed the amount he bet, but not the return he got.

1. $14 million dollars

An anonymous man, rumored to be young, under 30 at the time, and from Eastern Europe, pocketed the huge sum after a series of bets over six games in the World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros. The millions fell into the bookie's account on November 1, 2017.

2. $3.5 million dollars

Poker player Billy Walters placed the modest sum of $3.5 million on the New Orleans Saints' victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV in February 2010. With the Louisiana franchise's 31-17 triumph, winning its first Super Bowl in its history, Walters earned a huge windfall. However, the player did not reveal how much he made.

3. $2.5 million dollars

Famous bookie Vegas Dave (Dave Oancea) bet several Las Vegas casinos the sum of $140,000 on the Kansas City Royals winning the World Series in 2015. In addition to making the $2.5 million, in the same week, Vegas Dave also pocketed in the same month of November $200,000 after betting on Holly Holm's victory over Ronda Rousey.

4. $1.825 million dollars

Steve Whiteley, an engineer in the UK, bet £2 on six horses to win races taking place on the same day in Ireland and the UK. At the age of 61, Whiteley hit the jackpot, with all the horses winning and turning the engineer on his day off into a millionaire. Interestingly, one of the horses Whiteley bet on had lost all 28 races he entered.

5. $1.258 million dollars
At the age of 60, English fertilizer salesman Fred Craggs turned $62 into more than a million dollars. The man placed the bet on eight horse races taking place around the world. Without checking his bet, Craggs only found out that he was the winner when he returned to the same place to place another bet and was told that he was England's newest millionaire.

6. $1.2 million dollars

Tiger Woods had not won a golf competition in over a decade. That didn't stop James Adducci from betting $85,000 that the golfer would win the Masters in 2019. His boldness was rewarded with more than a million dollars in returns.
