Los Angeles Rams versus Cincinnati Bengals
February 13, 2022
This year’s Super Bowl matchup is one that features an unlikely contender who’s going up against a team that was expected to be there. The Bengals were considered a long shot to make it to the big game but now they’ve become a very likable underdog playing against one of the early season favorites to win it all in the Rams. QB Joe Burrow will likely join the ranks of elite quarterbacks in the AFC after leading his team on a remarkable run to its first Super Bowl in 33 years. Burrow has beaten Lamar Jackson, Derek Carr, Ryan Tannenhill, and Patrick Mahomes twice during the stretch while throwing for 13 touchdowns to 2 interceptions. In this game, he’ll go head-on against Matt Stafford, and both will be trying for their first Super Bowl win.
The LA Rams have been here before. 3 years ago, the Rams lost to the Patriots in Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta, but this time they get a chance to win it in front of their home crowd and stadium. Led by QB Matt Stafford, the Rams can become the second team in the last two seasons to win a title on their own turf. The Rams are loaded with veteran talent on both sides of the ball and have a clear advantage in the trenches when their defensive front lines up against a Bengals offensive line that can become overwhelmed at times. Going into this matchup the Rams will have the better defense, but the one area that the Bengals have flourished is defensive takeaways where they’re a plus 5 differentials. Winning the turnover battle will be a key factor in this game, but the Bengals will also have to best kicker going into this game in Evan McPherson who has been clutch in the playoffs.
