Brighton & Hove Albion will welcome Tottenham to Amex Stadium in the last match of the seventh round. Both teams started the season in solid way, but not according to the fans expectations. Brighton have two wins, three draws and one defeat and sit in the middle of the table with 9 points. The lone defeat came last weekend when they suffered a 4:2 loss at Stamford Bridge. It was an "one-man show" with Cole Palmer in main role. The former Manchester City product became the first Premier League player in history to score four goals in one half. New manager Fabian Hurzeler, who served a suspension on that match, has some good news ahead of Tottenham. Four players - James Milner, Brajan Gruda, Joel Veltman and Solly March - could all be in contention for this game. However, three other players remain sidelined - Joao Pedro, Matt O'Riley and Jan Paul van Hecke. Finally, Simon Adingra is touch-and-go and could start from the bench at best. At the end, midfielder Baleba should also be mentioned as he became the youngest Cameroon player to score and assist in a Premier League match.
Tottenham are one place and one point ahead of Brighton. Last weekend they were impressive in a 3:0 away victory against Manchester United. However the overall results are not at desired level. The inconsistency seems to be their biggest problem. The Spurs drew with Leicester at King Power Stadium in the first round, then beat Everton 4:0 in the second. However, Tottenham were beaten by Newcastle and Arsenal in the next two rounds. The fifth and sixth round were fantastic, Ange Postecoglou's men have registered two wins, against Brentford and Manchester United. The last weekend's victory at Old Trafford was very important, not only to stay in touch with Top-4 rivals, but for the players confidence too. Tottenham also beat Qarabag and Ferencvaros in UEFA Europa League during the midweek and I believe the atmosphere in the squad is positive. Most of the players are available, only Wilson Odobert and Richarlison remain out injured. Dominic Solanke will lead the line after his first call-up to the senior England squad in seven years. He deserve the call after several impressive seasons with Bournemouth.
Brighton & Hove Albion vs Tottenham Prediction:
I expect Over 3.5 goals at Amex. Brighton won 4:2 in this exact fixture against Tottenham last season. The current results of both teams are also efficient. The Seagulls played a 2:2 draw with Ipswich before losing 4:2 at Stamford Bridge. Tottenham, meanwhile, beat Manchester United 3:0 and Brentford 3:1 in the last two league fixtures.. As You could see, both managers are offensive-minded coaches. That is why I expect at least four goals here.
