Arsenal vs Aston Villa Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Arsenal:
Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Martinelli, Havertz, Trossard

Aston Villa:
Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Mings, Digne; Kamara, Onana; Rogers, Tielemans, Bailey; Watkins

Arsenal will welcome another Champions League participants Aston Villa to the Emirates on Saturday. The Gunners are second on the table, just four points away from the leaders Liverpool. The difference was bigger in December, but Liverpool dropped many points during the busy festive period. Aston Villa, meanwhile, sit in the 7th place and manager Unai Emeri must find a way to improve the results. Arsenal are far from their best form. They are close to suffer elimination from the Carabao Cup after losing 2:0 to Newcastle at home. In just four days, they were also eliminated from the FA Cup, from Manchester United on penalties. Losing matches is always a problem and affects the players confidence, but this time could be positive. Arteta will now be fully focused on the remaining two competitions - Premier League and UEFA Champions League. Arteta has some injury issues as key player Bukayo Saka is out with a hamstring injury. To be worse, Gabriel Jesus suffered ACL injury, one that will undoubtedly keep him out for the rest of the season. Ethan Nwaneri, Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are also sidelined, while Riccardo Calafiori is doubtful with a muscular problem.

Aston Villa ended the last calendar year in poor fashion. They suffered a painful 3:0 defeat to Newcastle and dropped two points against Brighton playing a 2:2 draw. Nevertheless, Aston Villa have improved the form and registered two important victories in 2025. The Villans managed to beat Leicester City and Everton and the players confidence is now higher. Aston Villa also secured a progress in the FA Cup, beating West Ham. A victory in this match would see them just five points from the second-placed Arsenal. But Emery also has injury issues. Pau Torres, Ross Barkley and John McGinn are sidelined, while the situation with defender Diego Carlos is not clear. According to Emery, he is injured, but there are speculations that he will be sold to Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce. Finally, Jaden Philogene was loaned to Ipswich Town, while Donyell Malen arrived from Borussia Dortmund and could start from the bench.

Arsenal vs Aston Villa Prediction:

This derby comes in the worst possible moment as both teams will play in the Champions League few days later. Arsenal will host Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday, while Aston Villa travel to Principality to face Monaco on Tuesday. However, both Arteta and Emery have to be focus on the Premier League. According to me, Arsenal are closer to the victory, mainly due to home advantage. Since the odds are too low, I will suggest a "handicap victory". The Gunners have bigger roster, something very important at the moment. The initial stake will be returned if Arsenal win with one goal exactly.

Chelsea vs Wolverhampton Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Chelsea:
Sanchez; James, Chalobah, Colwill, Cucurella; Fernandez, Caicedo; Madueke, Palmer, Sancho; Jackson

Wolverhampton:
Sa; Doherty, Bueno, Agbadou; R Gomes, Andre, J Gomes, Ait-Nouri; Hwang, Cunha; Larsen

Chelsea will welcome Wolverhampton to Stamford Bridge on Monday night. The Blues are clear favorites, however the guests will not give up easily. Chelsea are fifth with 37 points and they would climb to fourth if win here. The current form is poor, they have collect just three from the possible 15 points. Chelsea lost to Fulham and Ipswich Town, while drew with Everton, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth in the last round. What is worse, some of these failures came at Stamford Bridge, like a 2:2 draw with the Cherries on Tuesday. Worst of all, the Blues have advantage thanks to Cole Palmer, but then conceded twice. At the end they were fortunate to take a point considering they only leveled the scoreline in the 95th minute thanks to Reece James. The players confidence isn't at desired level and that's a huge problem for the manager Enzo Maresca. In addition, he has lot of injury issues. Centre-backs Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana are definitely sidelined, while Levi Colwill is rated as doubtful. That was the reason why Trevor Chalobah was recalled from his loan with Crystal Palace. Key players Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer are also doubts, but I believe they will play.

Wolverhampton have 16 points and they are deeply involved in the relegation battle. New manager Vitor Pereira had a dream start after winning his first two league games in charge. The Wanderers first beat 3:0 Leicester City at Power King, while in the next match recorded a 2:0 win over Manchester United at Moulinex. Even a 2:2 draw with Tottenham at New White Hart Lane was a good result. But the "honeymoon" ended soon and Wolverhampton have lost the next two matches. The defeats were high, they lost with identical 3:0 to Nottingham and Newcastle. The atmosphere in the squad is poor, while the players confidence is questionable. The bad defense is the biggest problem for Pereira. Wolves have conceded 48 goals, meaning they are joint worst defensive team in the Premier League with Leicester City. Pereira also has injury issues. He will be missing the important midfielder Boubacar Traore, but there is more. Centre-backs Toti Gomes and Yerson Mosquera have been ruled out and that's could be a problem. Most probably the guests will start with Matt Doherty, Santiago Bueno and Emmanuel Agbadou in the back-line. Winger Enso Gonzalez and striker Sasa Kalajdzic are sidelined, while Matheus Cunha is rated as doubtful due to illness.

Chelsea vs Wolverhampton Prediction:

Both teams are in poor form at the moment. Chelsea have no win on the last five Premier League matches, while Wolves have lost the previous two, conceding six goals and not scoring at all. The question is simple, who will recover sooner. I think Chelsea. The Blues have bigger roster, they play at home and most important, the quality is on their side. Since the odds are too low, I will suggest a "handicap victory". The stake will be returned if Chelsea win with one goal exactly.
