Manchester United will welcome Leicester City to Old Trafford in the FA Cup fourth round. The Red Devils have eliminated competition favorites Arsenal in the previous round. It was a big surprise and many believe that victory could be a base for something positive. However, Manchester United continued to play inconsistently. Last weekend brought another failure as they lost 2:0 to Crystal Palace. What is worse, the defeat came at full Old Trafford. The fans left the stadium frustrated and many are asking if Ruben Amorim is the right choice for United. The Portuguese manager opened a war with Marcus Rashford and the striker was forced to leave the club. Alejandro Garnacho was in similar position, but he decided to stay. Amorim made some strange moves, like selecting Kobbie Mainoo as a false nine over Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee. As a result, the Red Devils failed to score and lost to Palace. Amorim has some additional issues as Lisandro Martinez will miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury. Luke Shaw, Jonny Evans and Mason Mount remain sidelined, while Tyrell Malacia has left for PSV Eindhoven on loan. Patrick Dorgu joined the club and could make his debut here.
Leicester City have eliminated QPR in the third round of the competition. Nevertheless, the overall form is poor. The Foxes have 17 points and they sit in the drop zone. The fans are frustrated, they are still remembering the glory days few seasons ago when Leicester won the title. Ex-coach Cooper was sacked, but the situation under Ruud van Nistelrooy is even worse. The results were initially good, though the magic ended soon after. The atmosphere in the squad isn't at desired level, while the players confidence is low. To be worse, Van Nistelrooy has some injury worries ahead of this match. Wilfred Ndidi has recovered from a thigh injury, but maybe this match is coming too soon for him. Ricardo Pereira and Abdul Fatawu are long-term injury victims. Van Nistelrooy will probably make some changes following their horror show at Everton, so Facundo Buonanotte and Stephy Mavididi are expected to play here, while Jannik Vestergaard is likely to lose his place in the side. Captain Jamie Vardy need to be rested considering his age.
Manchester United vs Leicester City Prediction:
There will be lot off emotions at Old Trafford. I believe Ruud van Nistelrooy will receive a warm welcome from Man United fans. Their frustration with Amorim is bigger every day. The Dutch coach will like to impress and I don't expect to play 'catenaccio'. I expect both teams to attack, so this match should produce goals on both sides.
