Liverpool are out of form in the last period. The Reds have just one victory on the last five matches across all competitions. What is worse, they failed to score a single goal on the last two games. The matches against Bayern Munich and Manchester United ended with goalless draws. It is very unusual for Liverpool to play 0:0, they are known as offensive side under Jurgen Klopp. Last time the Merseysiders have played out back-to-back goalless draws in all competitions was in April 2013, coached by Brendan Rodgers. The atmosphere in the club isn't at desired level and I think the players are feeling big pressure. It seems they are unable to handle the pressure. Mohamed Salah looks out of form, he has scored just one goal on the last five matches. Liverpool draw at Old Trafford means their lead at the top of the table was reduced to a single point from Manchester City with 11 matches remaining. Klopp has some additional issues as he is still without two central defenders. Joe Gomez is missing due to a leg fracture, while Dejan Lovren remains sidelined with a hamstring injury. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is working his way back to full fitness, however this match comes too soon for him. Roberto Firmino, who limped off in the first half at Old Trafford, is rated as doubtful. Daniel Sturridge or Divock Origi could replace the Brazilian in attack alongside Mane and Salah.
Watford are just behind the 'Big Six' on the table. They are seventh and I believe the fans are fully satisfied. The club main target was to avoid relegation, so reaching the 40-point mark of safety with 11 games still to spare looks wonderful. At the same time, they are 10 points better compared with the same stage of last season. The actual form is good, Watford are in series of two victories in the Premier League. Two weeks ago the Hornets beat Everton with 1:0 thanks to the second-half goal by Andre Gray. In the last round Watford have obtained an impressive 5:1 win over Cardiff City. The Hornets have have scored five goals in a Premier League match for the first time since November 1986. Gerard Deulofeu was the key name on that match after scoring Watford's first top-flight hat-trick since 1986. The fourth and fifth goal were scored by Troy Deeney. The atmosphere in the squad is positive following the last victories, while the players confidence is higher. Manager Javi Gracia is doing an excellent job and the club supporters are dreaming about European football for the next season. Gracia has no new injury or suspension worries, but two of his men remain out. Jose Holebas will serve the second of his two-match ban for picking up 10 yellow cards, while Kiko Femenia remains sidelined due to injury. In-form duo of Deulofeu and Deeney is expected to lead the attack.
Liverpool vs Watford Preview:
I expect Watford to cover the handicap, meaning they won't lose with more than one goal. Liverpool are out of form. The Reds failed to score a single goal on the last two matches. Watford, meanwhile, are in series of two victories. Last weekend they scored five goals at Cardiff. Gerard Deulofeu and Troy Deeney are in great form and I think they will produce lot of troubles to Liverpool's defense.
