Newcastle vs Wolverhampton Preview:

Possible starting lineups:

Newcastle (5-4-1):
Dubravka, Yedlin, Clark, Lascelles, Fernandez, Yedlin, Manquillo, Ritchie, Diame, Sung-yueng, Murphy, Rondon

Wolverhampton (3-4-2-1):
Patricio, Bennett, Coady, Boly, Doherty, Neves, Moutinho, Vinagre, Jota, Jimenez, Gibbs-White

Newcastle have started the season very bad and they were 10 game winless, but have improved in the last period and now sit on the 14th position with 13 points. Although they are now four places above the relegation zone, there is no space for any relaxation - few bad results and this could turn around very quickly. The actual form is solid, they have lost just one of their last six matches in the Premier League. The Magpies managed to beat Watford, Bournemouth and Burnley, while shared the points with Southampton and Everton. The next period could be crucial for Newcastle as they are to play Wolverhampton, Huddersfield Town and Fulham in next three rounds. Manager Rafa Benitez is having a huge problem - lacking a good striker. Salomon Rondon, who scored against Everton on Wednesday, only took his league tally to three goals. Having on mind he is the club leading scorer, it is clear Benitez need some better solution. I won't be surprised if he try to bring new striker in January. Benitez has some injury and suspension worries ahead of this match. Matt Ritchie is back after serving a one-match ban, but Fabian Schar is now suspended. Karl Darlow, Paul Dummett, Isaac Hayden, Kennedy and Florian Lejeune are all struggling with injuries.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are on the 12th position with 19 points. The actual form is hard to be evaluated - they have suffered five defeats on the last seven matches in the Premier League, but managed to stay unbeaten against strong Arsenal, and beat Chelsea. I will mention the good the start of the season when Wolverhampton lost just one of their first eight games in the Premier League. However, the Wolves won 2:1 against Chelsea on Wednesday evening at Molineux. Two second-half goals scored by Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota gave the hosts victory after Ruben Loftus-Cheek's 25-yard effort was headed into his own net by the Wolves captain Conor Coady after only 18 minutes. Chelsea had 70% possession and 17 attempts on goal, but suffered a painful defeat. Young Morgan Gibbs-White should also be mentioned. With only 18 years and 312 days, he became the second-youngest player ever to assist a Premier League goal after Francis Jeffers from Everton in November 1999 (he had 18 years and 298 days). Manager Nuno Espirito Santo will try to use the positive momentum for another success at St James Park. He has no fresh injury or suspension worries, meaning only Jonny is sidelined because of injury. On the positive note, Ruben Neves should be in the starting eleven after serving a one-match ban in midweek.

Newcastle vs Wolverhampton Prediction:

I expect both teams to score at St James Park. Newcastle have scored on four of the last five Premier League's fixtures. The atmosphere in the squad is good, while the players confidence is higher. Wolverhampton, meanwhile, managed to beat Chelsea on Wednesday. Four of their last five Wolves' league matches have finished with goals on both sides. Considering these facts, I believe there will be goals here.
