Chelsea have secured quarterfinal in the League Cup after eliminated Liverpool and Derby. Both victories were narrow, 2:1 against Liverpool at Anfield and 3:2 against Derby at Stamford Bridge. Manager Maurizio Sarri is doing a solid job and I believe the fans are satisfied. The Blues are currently on the fourth position in the Premier League and have secured knock-out stage in the UEFA Europe League. In addition, Chelsea are between rare teams that managed to beat Manchester City this season (together with Lyon). Last weekend the Blues won 2:1 against Brighton at the Amex Stadium. Eden Hazard was the key name on that match as he scored one goal and assisted another. Willian should also be mentioned as he assisted the second goal. He has now been directly involved in 50 goals in the Premier League (scored 27 goals and assisted 23). Willian has became the third Brazilian player in Premier League history to reach this milestone, after the former Liverpool player Philippe Coutinho and the actual Reds' striker Roberto Firmino. The Blues have scored 37 league goals this season, their most at this stage of a campaign since the season 2014/15. The atmosphere in the squad is positive, while the players confidence is high. Sarri has four injury worries ahead of this match. Victor Moses, Gary Cahill, Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard are all rated as doubtful. My opinion is Sarri won't risk any of them.

Bournemouth have eliminated three opponents so far in the League Cup. First they beat MK Dons with 3:0 thanks to the goals scored by Lys Mousset, Ryan Fraser and Jordon Ibe. In the next round they were better than Blackburn. The Cherries score three goals again (Junior Stanislas, Jordon Ibe and Callum Wilson were the scorers) but won 3:2. In the previous round Bournemouth eliminated Norwich with 2:1. Junior Stanislas and Steve Cook were scorers on that match. However, the overall form isn't at the desired level. Bournemouth have suffered six defeats on the last seven matches in the Premier League. On Saturday they lost 2:0 to Wolverhampton. The Cherries have dominated possession with much of the match played in Wolves' half, but they failed to find a way through a solid defense. This was Bournemouth's first defeat from Wolverhampton in all competitions since December 1989. Manager Eddie Howe is feeling some pressure, but the positive moment is they are eleven points away from the relegation zone. Nevertheless, Howe must find a way to improve the defense. Since keeping 3 consecutive clean sheets in October, Bournemouth have conceded in each of their past 7 Premier League matches. For this match Howe has five injury worries. Adam Smith, Lewis Cook and Dan Gosling are definitely ruled out, while Tyrone Mings and Simon Francis are rated as doubtful. On the positive note, Callum Wilson has return from a minor injury and played against the Wolves during the weekend.

Chelsea vs Bournemouth Prediction:

Chelsea are strong favorites in this match, however I don't expect a high victory. Sarri will probably rest his key player Eden Hazard after sustained a minor knock during Sunday's victory at Brighton. It won't be a surprise the Italian to rotate more players ahead of the busy festive period. The guests are free from the pressure and I expect to cover the handicap.

Chelsea vs Bournemouth Pick: Bournemouth +1.75 Asian Handicap
