Value bets

Around 90% of the people who bet online are losing money. There is a small group of bettors who win money. They are not Einsteins or have supernatural powers. The bettors worked out some systems and translated that into winning money. What I will write is not about money management. It's simply to find what bet is a value. This is the only way you can win money from betting.
Lets start with explanation what is a value bet. Lets take for example this tennis match(I am a huge tennis fan) Gonzalez/Massu vs Ball/Smeets. The odds are 1.12 for team 1 and 7.0 for team 2. For me team 1 is not so strong so I have a feeling the odds are not right. In this case I take the bet on team 2, because I think they have better chance than 7.0. This is a value bet. The bet I've taken is valuable.
How do you find such bets?Well, you will need a lot of practice first without money, you need to understand the basicas of the sport you bet on. You cant just take high odds, because that doesnt nessesarily means they are value. Follow the sport on tv for some months, learn which players have weaknesses, even learn to read their expression during matches. Try to know when they are tired.
There are so much little things we can say about that. The important is to watch out the small details. If you want to win from betting you will need to perfect it.
And other important thing is to never lose your head. Dont let a bad run go into your head. Think positive. Thats what separates the best sportists from the rest, the same can be said about bettors.
I never bet on sports I am weak on, I follow the rules I setup for me and I can say I am happy for now with what I've done. If you are consistant and follow rules(not nessesarily mine) you have much more chances.
There are a lot of people that betting on high odds over 4.0 is a waste of money. That is not true. If you make a statistics about that you will find its very often that the outsider wins. In the beginning it was hard for me too, to evne put money on such odds, because I thought I will just lose money. But when you think about it its not like that. High odds give you more in return and like I said the outsiders win quite often.

i like the suggestions u just posted.anyway, i have a few questions, firstly how do u motivate yourself when u start losing in row. we shall continue from there when i get your reply or some response from other bettors on this forum.

I just try to keep my mind busy, try not to think how to return the lost money.
Anyway if you bet on odds over 3.0 or more you bet less money so you lose less.
I know I will return one day the lost sum because I believe in my tactics. I also know it's very hard not to think how to return the lost, but its the right way. WHen I was a beginner I lost my bankroll 3 times, then I almost quit, after that I returned and started to win money in the long term. I don't however have a lot of money to bet with in my bankroll so I will not get rich probably, but sometimes I throw 1 or 2 $ at crazy odds like 50.0 and I succeeded a few times which doubles my bank.
So basically just don't bet on crappy odds like 1.3 or even 1.8. I even know some people that bet on 1.05. Thats really the way to lose your money.

yo skywalker, what's your area of expertise? TENNIS, SOCCER OR BASKETBALL. i might occationally run to you for some tips when choosing my picks on bets since i'm going to be a frequent member here.

I am mainly tennis bettor. The tennis season is over now and there is only 1 major tournament - the davis cup. I post my picks in the tennis section when I can. Next year too.
What I am trying to do is to make the other people post and not just read the picks, in this way it's better for everyone. For example we have like 10 000 visits per month but only a few post.

I specialize in football games, Europe mainly.
If you have a game with odds like : 2,2@home win | 3,5@draw | 3,1@away win (for an example)
i maybe say that im gonna spend 15€ on just that game. I am very positive and think the home team is going to win put i am afraid that it might end as a draw.
then i make two bets, one bet for 4,29€ on the draw. and a bet of 10,71€ on the home win.

Then if we calculate, if it goes draw (4,29*3,5) i get 15€ back (by covering the bet) and lose the 10,71€.
But if the home team wins, it returns a total of 23,57€ which gives me profit of total 8,57€.

This gives me odds to win 1,571.

I think this is a clever way to work your way slowly and patiently on the top to make some money.

I tried sometimes with that, but in tennis, if there is live market for that match I put money on the outsider and then when the odds change(if) in my favor cause the outsider is leading I hedge for profit in both cases.

How about the idea of arbing? if we get the best competing odds from different sportsbooks, it is likely making guaranteed profit. By placing a larger amount of bet on bookmaker with higher odd and a lower bet on other bookmaker will make a guaranteed return regardless of the outcome of the game.

Yes, like I said you need a lot of money and accounts at many bookmakers, imagine how much money you would need to have at any of those sportsbooks. There are people doing it but I dont have the bank for that. And nowadays the odds are almost the same everywhere.

I think it’s great but haven’t join yet.. the system allows to place bets directly through their site, without having to login to the bookie accounts.. and their minimum deposit is $1000 for a automated membership. I think it’s cool having the system do the work for me… check their site if you want (site removed) … I like the concept but I’m still on the decision process whether to pull my trigger on this.

It is a winning strategy only if you can guess which match will be tight and the odds on the outsider are over 3.0

Well, sometimes I have been 100$ green on both sides after hedging 2-3 times on the same match, everything is possible.

I dont know, if they give you winners obviously its not scam. I never use someone else's picks, only mine.

Do they have a website? I tried to Google it but Sports Direct comes up as a sports clothing co.

I would do a cover bet on occasions - but I must admit have come stuck on a few times.
you always here of people doing a cover bet but the end result is you are still chasing your money you are about to lose.

only time I would put a small wager would be on level teams - eg priced at 7/4 home and way ...
